Multiple Roles | Casual, Part-Time & Full-Time | Melbourne
Bright Spark Recruitment is currently working with several TAFEs and specialist training providers across Melbourne who are expanding their electrical training teams.
In what feels like a perfect storm of demand, we currently have 5–8 Electrical Trade Trainer roles available across:
- Defence training programs
- TAFE institutes
- Private RTOs
- School-based apprenticeship programs
These roles across several organisations involve delivering training to Defence personnel, apprentices, pre-apprenticeship students, and secondary school students across a range of electrical programs.

The Role – What You’ll Be Teaching
You’ll deliver hands-on electrical training that mirrors real-world industry practice, including:
- Electrical fitting, WHS, and sustainable work practices
- Electrical control circuits and introductory PLC concepts
- Reading and interpreting drawings, diagrams, and specifications
- Connecting, terminating, and testing low-voltage electrical equipment
- Fault finding in single and multi-path circuits
- Working with AC/DC circuits, transformers, and rotating machines
- Refrigeration – Electrotechnology
- Isolation, testing, and troubleshooting of LV circuits
- Compliance testing and functional verification
You’ll run practical workshop sessions, support students in developing technical skills, and contribute to maintaining high-quality training delivery.
About You
You might currently be:
An Electrician
or
An Electrical Fitter / Industrial Electrician
with experience in areas such as:
- Automation or PLC environments
- Refrigeration
- Plant and machinery
- Control panels
- Industrial electrical systems
If you enjoy explaining how things work and helping others develop their skills, training can be a highly rewarding career move.
What You’ll Bring
- Electrical trade qualification (Certificate III or higher)
- Electrical licence (or equivalent industry experience)
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or currently working towards it)
- Current industry knowledge and vocational competency
- Strong communication skills and a safety-first mindset
Experience with control systems, PLCs, or refrigeration is highly valued but not essential.
