Darwin NT (Relocation to Tiwi Island Required)

This is a relocation-based role to Tiwi Island, approximately 80km north of Darwin, working in a community setting delivering adult education programs.
If you are tired of large classes, heavy admin and limited impact, this is an opportunity to work with small groups and see real learner outcomes.
What’s on offer
• 12 or 24-month full-time contracts
• Up to $95,000 + superannuation
• Furnished, private accommodation (not shared) provided
• Utilities included, set up ready on arrival
• Fully funded visit to Tiwi Island (flights + accommodation) after interview
• Relocation support of up to $5,000
• Monday to Friday hours (35-hour week)
• 5 weeks annual leave + additional wellbeing days
About the role
You will deliver foundation skills training (language, literacy, numeracy and digital) to adult learners.
• Teach small groups in a supportive environment
• Work with learners at varying education levels
• Adapt delivery to individual needs
• Build confidence, engagement and participation
• Support learner progress, attendance and outcomes
This is a hands-on delivery role, combining teaching, learner support and program involvement.
Accommodation
You will be provided with fully furnished, private accommodation on the island.
This is not shared housing, and is set up to ensure a comfortable and practical living environment from day one.
About you
You may come from:
• LLND / Foundation Skills / SEE
• AMEP / TESOL / ESL
• VET training or adult education
• Community education or learner support
You will bring:
• Strong communication and facilitation skills
• Ability to work with diverse learners
• A practical and adaptable teaching approach
• Willingness to live and work in a remote community
Requirements
• Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
• TAE40116 / TAE40122 (or willingness to obtain)
• Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)
• National Police Check
