Location and relocation
Remote island community in Northern Australia
Relocation required. This is not a FIFO role.
Roles and remuneration
SEE Trainers (2 roles – male and female) $85,000 to $95,000 + super
SEE Program Coordinator - $95,000 to $100,000 plus super
Accommodation and relocation support
Studio-style staff accommodation provided. Weekly utilities contribution applies.
Relocation costs covered within an agreed allowance.
Dry community (alcohol restrictions apply).
Overview
A Registered Training Organisation in a First Nations community is hiring two SEE Trainers and one SEE Program Coordinator for a 24-month fixed term program.
Work focuses on adult Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital skills under the Skills for Education and Employment program.
These roles suit educators who want a remote posting with housing provided, small cohorts, culturally respectful delivery, and clear program structure.
SEE Trainer roles
Deliver foundation skills training with learners working at low ACSF levels, with paced delivery and realistic expectations around learner progress.
Delivery may include Certificate II units such as Workplace Skills and Community Services.
Work with gender-specific groups: one role supports men’s classes, one role supports women’s classes.
SEE Program Coordinator role
Lead SEE delivery across multiple communities. Support a small team of trainers and program staff.
Manage grant administration and reporting through Workforce Australia systems.
Drive learner engagement, compliance evidence, and stakeholder relationships with local services.
Work setting and conditions
Hours: 35-hour week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm with a one-hour lunch break.
Leave: five weeks annual leave plus four wellbeing days each year.
Weather and wet season conditions can affect travel and scheduling at times.
Staff housing is not suitable for pets.
Community expectations apply, including respectful conduct and modest dress in community settings.
Core requirements
Australian citizen or permanent resident required for training roles under this program.
TAE40122 preferred for trainer roles, or a plan to complete within an agreed timeframe.
Coordinator role: program coordination experience and leadership capability.
Workforce Australia portal experience strongly regarded.
Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card) required for child-related work in the Northern Territory.
AFP check required.
Backgrounds suitable for these roles
Trainers: Foundation Skills, LLND, ESL, AMEP, SEE delivery, VET in Schools, secondary teaching with foundation skills focus.
Coordinator: SEE program leadership, community program coordination, RTO team leadership, grant-funded education programs, multi-site coordination.
