Multiple Roles in Casual, Part-Time & Full-Time

Bright Spark Recruitment is currently partnering with several leading TAFEs, Defence projects, and specialist RTOs across Melbourne that are expanding their Electrotechnology and Industrial Trades training teams.

In what feels like a perfect storm of industry demand, we currently have multiple opportunities available for experienced industry professionals looking to transition into training and education.

These roles involve delivering hands-on training across:

• Defence training programs

• TAFE institutes

• Private RTOs

• School-based apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs

You’ll work with apprentices, Defence personnel, secondary students, and emerging tradespeople across a range of electrical and industrial automation disciplines.

Areas of Demand

We are particularly seeking trainers or industry professionals with backgrounds in:

• Electrical / Electrotechnology

• PLC / Industrial Automation / Control Systems

• Refrigeration & Air Conditioning

• Electronics

• Electrical Fitting

• Industrial Electrical

The Role – What You’ll Be Teaching

Training delivery may include areas such as:

• Electrical fitting and industrial systems

• PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers)

• Control circuits and automation systems

• Electrical fault finding and troubleshooting

• AC/DC circuits and transformers

• Rotating machines and motors

• Reading and interpreting schematics and diagrams

• Testing and commissioning LV systems

• Refrigeration and electrotechnology systems

• Isolation and compliance testing

• Electronics and instrumentation fundamentals

You’ll deliver practical workshop-based training, mentor students, support learner development, and contribute to maintaining strong industry-relevant training standards.

About You

You may currently be working as:

• Electrician

• Industrial Electrician

• Electrical Fitter

• Refrigeration Mechanic

• PLC / Automation Technician

• Maintenance Electrician

• Electronics Technician

• Control Systems Technician

with experience across:

• manufacturing

• industrial sites

• automation environments

• refrigeration systems

• switchboards and control panels

• plant and machinery

• process industries

• utilities or infrastructure

If you’ve ever thought about moving off the tools, have commenced or completed your Cert IV TAE and would like to pass on your knowledge to the next generation, this is an excellent time to make the transition.

Candidates currently completing their TAE are strongly encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Bring

• Electrical trade qualification (Certificate III or higher)

• Electrical licence or strong vocational industry experience

• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
  (or currently working towards)

• Current industry currency and technical capability

• Strong communication and mentoring skills

• Safety-first mindset

Experience with PLCs, industrial automation, refrigeration, or electronics is highly regarded.
