Trainee & Apprenticeship Officer – NSW

$80,000–$90,000 + Super + Fully Maintained Vehicle | Flexible Field-Based Role

Know apprenticeships? Understand the trades? Great with employers? Prefer being out meeting people rather than sitting behind a desk?

Bright Spark Recruitment is partnering with an established Group Training Organisation to find a Trainee & Apprenticeship Officer to support apprentices and trainees and build strong relationships with host employers across Sydney

You’ll inherit a small existing caseload, so you’re not starting from scratch. Your role is to support those apprentices and trainees, build strong relationships with their employers and grow the portfolio by identifying new apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities.

What’s on offer

  • $80,000–$90,000 + Super

  • Fully maintained company vehicle

  • Fuel and tolls included

  • Laptop + mobile phone

  • Work-from-home flexibility

This isn't a hard-sell sales role. It's about relationships, visibility and trust.

You’ll spend your time visiting apprentices, trainees and employers, checking how things are progressing, solving issues and making sure participants are getting the training and support they need.

At the same time, you’ll build relationships with existing and prospective employers and identify opportunities to bring more apprentices and trainees into the network.

What will success look like?

You’ll be expected to:

  • Look after and regularly visit host employers

  • Mentor and support apprentices and trainees

  • Generate new apprenticeship and traineeship vacancies

  • Match and fill apprenticeship opportunities

  • Build relationships with existing members and employers

  • Develop new host-employer relationships

  • Keep contracts, inductions and documentation moving quickly

  • Manage your own territory, diary and relationships

Who could be a great fit?

You might already work in:

Apprenticeships | GTOs | VET | Apprentice Mentoring | Employer Engagement

OR

You might come from a trade-related sales, account management or business development background where you already understand tradespeople, contractors and construction-related businesses.

That could include experience in trade sales, tools, building products, electrical, plumbing, automotive, industrial supplies or trade account management.

We’re looking for someone who can talk the language of employers and trades, build rapport quickly and develop long-term relationships.

You'll need to be organised, comfortable working autonomously and happy spending a good part of your week out on the road.

The existing employer footprint includes Penrith, St Marys, Silverdale, Emu Plains, Smithfield, Fairfield, Wetherill Park, Rouse Hill, Strathfield and surrounding areas.

Interested?

If you enjoy working with people, building employer relationships and helping apprentices and trainees succeed, this is a great opportunity to take ownership of a territory with plenty of autonomy and flexibility.
