With strong systems, realistic expectations, and a collaborative approach, they’re seeking a capable and motivated Program Delivery Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of their education delivery team.

LLN Specialist – New Role Supporting Adult Learners in VET

Listed: 15-Jul-2025

Melbourne VIC > South Melbourne

$85,000 – $100,000 per year

Education & Training > Teaching - Vocational

  • In-class LLN support—no separate remedial groups
  • Respected peak body with 100+ years of history
  • Full-time or 0.8FTE, South Melbourne + parking

Provide LLN support in VET classrooms. Work with trainers to improve access, equity, and learner outcomes in a respected industry training body.

Looking for a meaningful training role where you can make a real difference—without the paperwork overload or under-resourced classrooms?

This is your chance to join an employer who genuinely values quality education, invests in its trainers, and understands what it takes to help learners succeed in a newly created, high-impact role.

Our client is the peak industry body for building and construction in Victoria, with a proud 100+ year legacy of supporting members and educating the next generation of skilled workers. They offer industry-specific, high-quality training tailored to real workforce needs—equipping students with the skills and confidence to succeed both in training and in their careers.

They’re committed to doing education properly. That means class sizes that are manageable, systems that support (not frustrate), and a culture that respects its trainers as professionals.

This newly created Education Support Trainer position is all about embedding Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) support directly into the classroom—not pulling students into remedial side sessions or expecting one trainer to manage it all. You’ll be the go-to person for targeted support, working side-by-side with trainers and students alike.

The Role

  • Based in South Melbourne with on-site parking available
  • Provide tailored LLND support for learners flagged by trainers or during assessments
  • Offer in-class support, coaching, and occasional 1:1 sessions for learners with barriers
  • Mentor trainers in inclusive teaching strategies and support planning
  • Co-develop and review resources that embed LLND and digital literacy
  • Support occasional evening classes (e.g. 5:30–9:00pm), with time off in lieu
  • Some activity at the East Melbourne campus and nearby simulation centre

Why This Role Will Appeal to the Right Educator

  • No unrealistic loads – your focus is on quality support, not filling up hours
  • Collaboration, not isolation – work closely with a stable team of passionate educators
  • Professional respect – your expertise in LLN will be valued and sought-after
  • Time to do the job well – this isn’t a reactive model; it’s designed for impact
  • Flexibility to work full time or 0.8 FTE, depending on your situation

What We’re Looking For

  • Cert IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent)
  • Strong experience in LLND support in adult or vocational education settings
  • Confident working with digital tools and online learning environments
  • A natural collaborator with the ability to support both learners and trainers
  • Committed to access, equity and helping adults succeed on their learning journey

This role is for someone who thrives on building capability, not just delivering content. You’ll have the freedom and support to shape how LLN support is embedded into training, and be part of an organisation that genuinely walks the talk when it comes to education quality.
