???? The Role: Trainer – Electronics & Communications

You’ll deliver training up to Certificate III in Electronics & Communications, providing hands-on, industry-aligned education in a modern trade college environment in Melbourne.

This is more than teaching — it’s mentoring, shaping capability, and building workforce outcomes.

You will:

  • Design and deliver engaging, practical training sessions

  • Bring theory to life using real-world examples and current industry practice

  • Use blended learning approaches (including Moodle and digital tools)

  • Develop high-quality training resources across multiple formats

  • Create a positive, motivating learning environment

  • Work closely with employers and industry to keep training current and relevant

  • Support apprentices from diverse backgrounds to succeed


What We’re Looking For

You’ll bring deep technical credibility, ideally with experience in:

  • Selecting, installing, testing and fault-finding electronic equipment

  • Repair and maintenance at component and sub-assembly level

  • One or more of the following streams:

    • Communications systems

    • Radio Frequency

    • Audio, video & TV

    • PCs, networks & security systems

    • Custom installations

Essential / Desirable

✔ Enrolled in or completed Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE)
✔ Industry experience in electronics, communications or repair
✔ Experience with apprentices desirable but not essential
✔ Ability to engage learners from diverse backgrounds
✔ Strong communication and mentoring mindset
