The Opportunities

Our clients deliver training across a variety of environments, including:

  • TAFE institutes and vocational education campuses

  • Defence training facilities and specialist Defence programs

  • Private Registered Training Organisations (RTOs)

  • School-based apprenticeships and pre-apprenticeship programs

Depending on your qualifications and experience, you could be training apprentices, Defence personnel, secondary school students, adult learners or experienced tradespeople undertaking further qualifications.

Opportunities range from flexible casual teaching through to permanent full-time training positions.

What You'll Be Teaching

Depending on your technical background, training may cover:

  • Electrical fitting, industrial electrical systems and maintenance

  • PLC programming, control circuits and automation

  • Electrical fault finding, diagnostics and troubleshooting

  • AC/DC circuits, transformers and electrical fundamentals

  • Motors, rotating machinery and electrical drives

  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and diagrams

  • Testing, commissioning and maintaining low-voltage systems

  • Refrigeration, air conditioning and associated electrical systems

  • Electrical isolation, compliance and safety testing

  • Electronics, instrumentation and communication systems

You'll combine your practical industry knowledge with hands-on workshop training, helping students develop the technical skills, confidence and safety awareness required in today's workforce.

Who We're Looking For

You may currently be working as an:

  • Electrician or Industrial Electrician

  • Electrical Fitter or Maintenance Electrician

  • PLC / Automation Technician

  • Control Systems Technician

  • Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic

  • Electronics or Instrumentation Technician

  • Electrotechnology Trainer or Assessor

We're interested in people with experience across manufacturing, industrial maintenance, automation, refrigeration, Defence, utilities, infrastructure, plant and machinery, or related technical industries.

You don't necessarily need years of teaching experience.

If you have strong technical skills, enjoy mentoring others and can communicate your knowledge effectively, a career in vocational training could be an excellent next step.

Qualifications & Experience

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • A relevant trade qualification, technical diploma or equivalent industry qualification

  • An electrical licence where required for the relevant discipline

  • Strong, current industry experience and technical knowledge

  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or recognised equivalent), OR a willingness to enrol and undertake the qualification

  • Good communication, coaching and mentoring skills

  • A strong commitment to workplace safety and quality training

Considering enrolling in a TAE? Some of our clients may be open to experienced industry professionals who are prepared to undertake the required training qualification, subject to role requirements and supervision arrangements.
