  • Full-time, part-time or casual campus-based TESOL role in SE Melbourne
  • Work with modern facilities & supportive teaching teams
  • Make a real impact with adult learners delivering the AMEP Program

Teach English to adults (AMEP) campus-based. Long-term roles with great support, flexible hours, and real impact on learners’ lives.

We’re recruiting passionate English language teachers for the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) and other adult learning streams across South-East Melbourne for evening classes.

Evening classes run from 6–9pm. A full-time evening teacher would teach 3 evenings and 2 days a week.

Bright Spark Recruitment is contracted with a government body to recruit qualified teachers for the delivery of the AMEP program, helping newly arrived migrants and refugees gain the language skills they need to settle confidently and thrive in their new communities.

Whether you’re an experienced AMEP teacher, an ELICOS educator, or a TESOL-qualified professional with a strong foundation in adult learning — we’d love to hear from you.

What Makes These Roles Different

  • ✅ Teach with Purpose: Make a real difference in the lives of adult migrants and refugees through one of Australia’s most important government-funded education programs.
  • ✅ Stability & Growth: Ongoing part-time and full-time teaching opportunities with clear pathways for career progression and secure, long-term work.
  • ✅ Real Support: Join reputable providers who value teaching quality and offer a supportive, respectful, and team-based culture with minimal red tape.

Locations

???? Teaching is delivered face-to-face on campus only — at multiple sites across South-East Melbourne.

Your Role as an AMEP/English Language Teacher

  • Deliver practical, engaging English lessons tailored to adult migrants and refugee learners.
  • Use flexible, learner-centred approaches suitable for mixed-level and culturally diverse groups.
  • Support students’ settlement goals through language, literacy, and confidence building.
  • Contribute to lesson planning and maintain essential program compliance and reporting.

What You’ll Bring

  • A postgraduate TESOL qualification with 60 hours teaching practicum (Certificate IV TESOL or CELTA alone does not meet eligibility criteria).
  • An undergraduate degree.
  • Experience teaching adults in AMEP, ELICOS, community, or settlement programs with proven practicum from your education provider.
  • A strong commitment to inclusive, learner-focused teaching and positive outcomes.
  • Desirable: TAE qualification or VIT registration.

Why Apply With Bright Spark

  • Full-time, part-time or casual teaching opportunities with scope for career growth and secure, ongoing work.
  • Structured hours — no last-minute or unpredictable shifts.
  • Access to professional development and genuine pathways to expand your skills.
  • Streamlined application process — we’ll help you navigate onboarding and paperwork smoothly.
  • Helpful, responsive team ready to assist you at every stage of your application.
  • Make a meaningful impact — help newly arrived Australians build a better future.
