Data Analyst – Construction & Workforce Sector

Our client is a well-established, highly respected peak industry body supporting workforce development in the construction and training sector. Known for its stability, collaborative culture, and purpose-driven work, this organisation plays a central role in guiding economic and skills-based decisions across Queensland.

They are currently seeking a Data Analyst with strong technical capability in Python, Power BI, and Excel, and the ability to translate complex datasets into clear insights. The role is based in Milton, Brisbane with hybrid work flexibility (2 days from home after probation).

Day-to-Day, You’ll Be:

  • Maintaining and managing workforce, construction, and internal datasets to ensure accuracy and data quality.
  • Building dashboards and visualisation assets in Power BI and Excel to support reporting and decision-making.
  • Using Python (or R), Power Query, and other analytical tools to model and interpret workforce and industry data.
  • Collaborating with a small, tight-knit team to support research projects, reports, and briefings that inform workforce development initiatives.
  • Communicating findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

You’ll Need:

  • Demonstrated experience in a data analyst role working with complex datasets.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, Power Query, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Confidence using R or Python for data modelling and analysis.
  • Understanding of economic and demographic datasets and how they apply to workforce planning or education/training.
  • High-level communication skills—you can translate technical data into clear, compelling insights for a non-technical audience.
  • A relevant degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a similar field.
